3. Service Description
Cendana Masa provides mechanical watch service and restoration in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Our services include:
- Calibre Service — full movement service for mechanical and automatic calibres
- Crown & Pusher Service — focused work on crown, pusher, and winding stem assemblies
- Long-Form Restoration — comprehensive restoration for pieces requiring extended attention
Services are available to clients who are able to present their watch at our Kuala Lumpur atelier. Remote service is not currently available. We reserve the right to decline any service engagement at our discretion.
4. Client Responsibilities
- You must be the owner of the watch or have the owner's authority to submit it for service.
- You must provide accurate information about the watch and its known condition at intake.
- You must remain contactable during the service period to receive updates and confirm decisions.
- You must collect your watch within 30 days of being notified that it is ready. Extended storage beyond this period may attract a reasonable storage charge.
- You must not use our website in a manner that is unlawful, harmful, or that disrupts our operations.
5. Payment Terms
All prices are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). The service price applicable to your engagement is confirmed in writing at intake and before work commences.
- Payment is due in full upon collection of your watch.
- We accept cash, bank transfer, and major debit/credit cards.
- Any additional work beyond the agreed scope — arising from findings during service — will be quoted and confirmed with you in writing before it proceeds. Additional charges are only incurred with your explicit agreement.
- If you decline additional work that proves necessary for the watch to function safely, we will reassemble it in its current state and return it without completing the service. The agreed intake fee remains payable.
- We do not offer refunds for completed services. If you believe the service outcome was not as described, please contact us and we will address your concern directly.
6. Service Delivery Terms
Indicative timelines are provided at intake and are given in good faith based on current workshop capacity. They are not contractual commitments. We will notify you if timelines change materially.
- All work is carried out at our Kuala Lumpur atelier. Your watch will not be sent to any third-party workshop without your knowledge and consent.
- Where parts must be sourced externally, this may affect timelines. We will inform you of any sourcing requirement and confirm the cost before ordering.
- A written service record will be provided when your watch is collected, documenting work performed and any regulation results achieved.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, photography, design, and layout — is the property of Cendana Masa or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content from this website for commercial purposes without our prior written consent. Personal, non-commercial reference use is permitted.
8. Disclaimers
Our services are provided by qualified watchmakers using professional methods. However, watchmaking involves working with aged mechanical components, some of which may be brittle, worn beyond visible evidence, or subject to failure during service. We take reasonable precautions but cannot account for every latent condition in a watch we did not manufacture.
- We do not represent that any specific rate accuracy will be achieved after service; regulation outcomes depend on the condition of the movement.
- Vintage and heavily worn watches carry an inherent risk of component failure during service that is unrelated to the quality of the work performed.
- Website content is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute professional watchmaking advice specific to your timepiece.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, Cendana Masa's liability for any claim arising from service delivery is limited to the amount paid for the service in question.
We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental loss, including loss of use, loss of enjoyment, or diminution in value of a watch, except where caused by our negligence or wilful misconduct.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cendana Masa and its personnel from any claim, loss, or expense arising from your breach of these Terms, your provision of inaccurate information, or your unlawful use of our website or services.
11. Termination
You may withdraw from a service engagement before work commences without charge. Once work has begun, a reasonable charge for work performed to date may apply. We will discuss this with you directly.
We may decline to continue a service engagement if we determine that proceeding would cause risk to the watch or is beyond our safe capability. In such cases we will notify you promptly and return the watch.
12. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from these Terms or our services will first be addressed informally — please contact us at [email protected] and we will make every reasonable effort to resolve the matter directly.
If informal resolution is not possible, disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Consumer rights under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 (Malaysia) are not affected by these Terms.
13. General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with any written service intake record, constitute the entire agreement between you and Cendana Masa for the services described.
- Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
- Waiver: Failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of our rights.
- Assignment: You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our written consent.
